Upon entering a Christian coffee house in 1972, Jerry caught sight of Mary and boldly proclaimed to his friend standing nearby, Im going to marry that girl someday. And he did! Unbeknown to Jerry, Mary as a youngster emphatically told her mother, Im going to marry a preacher. And she did! Still happily married after 33 years, they have three daughters and eight grand children.
Beginning in 1975, Jerry became involved in ministry and was ordained in 1989. Over the years he has served in the capacity as church administrator, youth pastor and associate pastor.
Jerry and Mary motivate Gods people to develop an individual relationship with Him; and out of that relationship will come a desire to separate from worldly influences and to reach their fellowman.
Walking hand in hand through numerous years of marriage, Jerry and Mary clearly understand that it is a definite challenge to cultivate and build a healthy marriage in todays society. Couples are inevitably faced with marital compromise somewhere between I do and til death do us part. This attack on the institution of marriage has prompted a desire in their hearts to see marital relationships healed, strengthened and reinforced through the principles of the Word of God.
Jerry & Mary have a strong desire to see the body of Christ established in all aspects of life through discipleship training. They currently oversee the Covenant Marriages & Communion. Jerry has a teaching gift and is truly a man of compassion and love. You will be blessed by getting to know both Jerry & Mary Uriarte.
